Function / Content

This series consists of collated books of surveyed plans of Northern Territory Mineral Claims with indices. Each plan has been prepared by a licensed surveyor and shows the boundaries of the claim (application), natural features, buildings and data points. Each plan has been certified by the surveyor to confirm that the claim in the application has been correctly surveyed and properly marked on the ground. The plan has been certified as correct by the Chief Mining Warden. Any alterations to the claim were noted on the plan by the agency responsible for noting the change. The information recorded for each Mineral Claim includes the location, the applicant, section number, area and scale. An index is included in the front of each book.
